Fat Possum Records is the new label for The Felice Brothers and we thought that we’d take some time to get to know them a bit.
Fat Possum Records is a independent record label based in Oxford, Mississippi. It was started by Matthew Johnson and Peter Redvers-Lee in 1992 in effort to record great blues artists in North Mississippi, that were at the time forgotten by the music business, most notable among them, RL Burnside. As time went on, the label began to expand into emerging artists, such as The Black Keys, Band of Horses, Andrew Bird and A.A. Bondy. Fat Possum is currently home to artists such as Lissie, Wavves, The Walkmen, Smith Westerns, and Yuck.
Fat Possum has a tremendous track record of artists with integrity and commercial success. Its a home we have wished, (and begged and goaded!) for The Felice Brothers for the last couple of years.
